Expert Answer
Binary fission is the type of asexual reproduction in which two individuals are formed from a single parent and the parental identity is lost.
Binary fission starts with karyokinesis, the division of nucleus followed by cytokinesis, the division of the cytoplasm. Since the parent cell divides to form two new daughter cells, the parental identity is lost.
