Mainly concave mirror form real image but when the object is olaced between the focus and pole it will form virtual image of the object
Convex mirror always always form virtual image
This is valid only when the object is real

Expert Answer
When the object is placed between the focus and pole of the concave mirror, according to the rules of image formation by spherical mirrors, the light rays from object placed between focus and pole diverges from concave mirror but appears to be converging behind the mirror. Thus, image formed is virtual image and not real in this case.
In case of cinvex mirror, the image formed is always virtual independent of the position of object because, the convex mirror is diverging mirror. When the light rays are incident on convex mirror, they get diverged after reflection but appears to converge behind the mirror. And the focus of the convex mirror is positive. Thus, image formed is always virtual, erect and diminished.
