Expert Answer
Dear Student,
Alkaline earth metals (group 2 metals) are highly reactive and readily lose 2 valence shell electrons to achieve the nearest noble gas configuration which is a stable configuration.
Noble gas elements have their octet completed so unreactive toward any elements.
So, B which is alkaline earth metals is highly reactive and easily forms cation with +2 charge.
A is a noble gas element that is unreactive.
