Newton's First law of motion :-
Every body continues to be in its state of rest or of uniform motion in a straight line
unless compelled by some external force to act otherwise.
From the above statement of Newton's first law of motoin,
force is defined as push or pull applied to an object to change its state of motion.
If the object is at rest, then can be made to move by applying force.
If the object is in motion, then it can be stopped by applying force
