mks and cgs

Expert Answer
MKS system stands foe Meter, Kilogram and Seconds. In this system mass is mentioned in kg, length in meter and time in seconds.
In CGS system, CGS stands for Centimeter-Gram-Second, Here length is measured in centimeters mass is measured in grams and time is in seconds.
So by analysing the unit of any physical quantity we can easily identify the system used for that particular quantity. For example
In mks Value of g=9.8ms-2
In CGS value of g=980cms-2
