Industrial uses of sulphuric acid are as follows:

  1. In the manufacture of fertilisers such as ammonium sulphate [(NH4)2SO4] and superphosphate of lime         [Ca (H2PO4)2 + CaSO4].
  2. In the manufacture of explosives such as tri-nitro toluene and picric acid.
  3. In the manufacture of acids such as nitric acid, hydrochloric acid, phosphoric acid and acetic acid.
  4. In the synthesis of compounds such as sodium sulphate and ferrous sulphate.

 we know water is a non electrolyte since it requires h2so4 to ionize to positively harged hydronium ions and sulphate ions then what property of water makes itself ionize to h+ and oh- ions along with the ionization of the dissolved salts ??  is it so if then why??
