CBSE Class 10 Answered
Let y be number of girls and x be number of boys .
Number of girls is given in y-axis and number of boys is in x-axis.
If total number of students is 10 , then corresponding equation is " x + y = 10 " as given by red line.
Number of girls equal to number of boys is represented by equation y = x as given by dashed line .
In the region above dashed line , we have y > x , i.e. number of girls greater than number of boys
In the region below dashed line , we have y < x , i.e. number of girls lesser than number of boys
It is given that number of girl students participation is greater than number of boys students in mathematics quiz .
Hence possible solution for above codition is given by the points A, B, C and D
on the line x+y =10 and above the dashed line y = x .
Point A gives 9 girls and 1 boy ;
Point B gives 8 girls and 2 boys ;
Point C gives 7 girls and 3 boys ;
Point D gives 6 girls and 4 boys ;
