A rhombus shaped field has green grass for 60 horses to graze. If each side of the rhombus is 50 m and its smaller diagonal is 60 m, then how much area of grass field will each horse be grazing?

          Clearly, triangles ABC and ADC are congruent.

 

           Area of ABC = Area of ADC.                                           

          Also, triangles ABC and ADC have equal parameters.

          Let s be the semi-perimeter of ABC and ADC. Then,

        

                                                                                     

          So, Area of rhombus ABCD = 2 × Area of ABC = (2 × 1200) m2 = 2400 m2

 

Area of grass field each horse will graze =
