Let the horizontal distance be AB and the height of the hill be AC = 100 m
Angle ACB = 60o and angle ABC = 30o 
tan 60o = AB/AC
rightwards double arrow square root of 3 equals fraction numerator A B over denominator 100 end fraction rightwards double arrow A B space equals space 100 square root of 3 space m
