Question: The angles of elevation of the top of the tower from two points at a distance of 4 m and 9 m from the base of the tower and in the same straight line with it are complementary. Find the height of the tower.
Solution: 

AB is the tower.
Angle of elevation at a distance of 4m at point C = , and the angle of elevation at the point D at 9 m is (90o - )
In triangle ABC,
and in triangle ABD,
 AB2 = 36 or AB = 6
