Expert Answer
Magnetic field at centre of coil = ( μo n i ) / (2 R )
where n is number of turns, i is current in the coil and R is radius of coil
if coil diameter d is 16 cm and coil is made from wire of length 40 m ,
then number of turns n = 40 / (πd ) = 40 / (π×0.16 ) ≈ 79 turns
Hence magnetic field B = ( 4π × 10-7 × 79 × 5 ) /( 2 × .08 ) = 3.1 × 10-3 T
