1. The orbial velocity (v), of a satellite may depend on mass (m), and distance (r), from center of the earth and accerlation due to gravity (g). Obtain the expression for the velocity.

Expert Answer
Gravitational force of attraction between satellite and earth acts as centripetal force .
hence ................(1)
where m is mass of satellite, M is mass of earth, v is orbital velocity, R is radius of earth and
h is height of satellite above earth's surface
if we substitute acceleration due to gravity g = GM/R2 , then we have from eqn.(1), .
