CBSE Class 9 Answered
Why steam produced during boiling of water has additional latent heat of vapourisation ?

Expert Answer
When the heat is raised water starts boiling, the kinetic energy of water is increased resulting breaking of hydrogen bonds between water molecules and water converted from liquid to gaseous state. During this process, the temperature of water remains constant while continuously supplying heat energy to it, this happens because of latent heat of vaporisation.
