why is GC nitrogeous bases more in prokaryotic cell than in eukaryotic cell

GC content is found to be variable with different organisms. Both phylogeny and the environment significantly affect nucleotide composition. Prokaryotes will tend to be more GC-rich if they have higher rates of recombination, higher effective population sizes, and/or a process of gene conversion that is more biased toward GC.
