- DNA copying mechanism is extremely necessary for reproduction as copying of DNA helps in transfer of information or characters from parents to offspring.
- It also generates variations during sexual reproduction. This variation leads to evolution.
- However, DNA copying alone is not enough for cell division and reproduction because for the growth of the offspring or for the functioning of the cell, DNA solely is not required because each and every cell organelle has its own importance and function for normal metabolic activities to be performed by the body.
- Cells also require the whole cellular machinery to maintain life. So other cellular apparatus are also needed with DNA.
- So, there is necessity for each and every cell organelle to get duplicated along with DNA.
