Pimples occur mainly because of hormonal changes in the body. It is especially during puberty that the level of male sex hormones increases and it can cause pimples. Especially during puberty, oil glands in the skin can become overactive, producing too much of an oil called sebum. Sebum, dead skin cells, and bacteria can clog the pores in your skin, causing them to become inflamed. Due to the tender age, the adrenaline rush is very high which results in hyperactivity of the glands, resulting in the formation of pimples and acne.
