Why birds don't have a urinary system
Asked by Shajumadhavan2 | 02 Feb, 2020, 23:03: PM
- Birds are uricotelic which means that they excrete their wastes in the form of uric acid pellets.
- In birds, both liquid and solid waste leave the cloaca.
- Birds have a urinary tract, but it is combined with solid waste before being released.
- So, birds urinate, but it is mixed with solid waste and removed at the same time.
- Hence, birds do not have a proper urinary system for excretion of wastes.
