While travelling in a car, why do objects away from us appear to move faster than the objects near to us ?

Expert Answer:
the mirror in a car/ rare view mirror is a convex mirror.
So for far away objects as they come nearer image distance decreases more/unit time where as it is slower for images of nearer objects.
