when light behave as a wave and when as a particle

In certain experiments light was found to behave as wave and in some other experiments/ phenomena can only be explained when light is assumed to have particle nature.
Like photoelectric effect can not be explained using wave nature.
photoelectric effect experiment was one major step in proving light behaves as particle.
Light also shows Diffraction and Interference which is a property shown by waves. These phenomena can only be explained when light is assumed to have wave nature.
