what will be the color of a green book when it is viewed through a red glass?

Green object reflects only green, and absorbs light of any other color incident upon it. So no matter what kind of light we illuminate the object with, only green light  will leave it.

Red glass transmits only red light, and absorbs light of any other color incident upon it. So no matter what kind of light enters it, only red  comes out the other side. 

The book reflects only green into the glass, and nothing comes out the other side. So the object appears black.
