The effort required to crack a nut is 0.5 N, then the resistance offered by the nut is _______
E = 0.5 N
Effort arm = distance between the fulcrum and the effort = 2+ 18 = 20 cm
Load = Resistance offered by the nut =?
Load arm = 2 cm
We know, the principle of lever,
Effort x Effort arm = Load x load arm
Thus,
0.5 N x 20 cm = L x 2
Thus,
![L thin space equals space fraction numerator 0.5 cross times 20 over denominator 2 space end fraction space equals space 5 space N space](https://images.topperlearning.com/topper/tinymce/cache/409d30141e6109e1e69520e4ccda3319.png)
Thus, the resistance offered by the nut will be 5 N
correct option - (B) - 5 N
