CBSE Class 10 Answered
What is the difference between resistance and resistivity?
Asked by abhinav21621 | 08 Feb, 2020, 05:07: PM
Resistivity ρ is the property of material of conductor.
Resistance R of a conductor depends upon resistivity ρ, length L of conductor and cross section area A as given below
R = ( ρ × L ) / A ...............(1)
From above eqn.(1), we can define resistivity is resistance of conductor of unit length and unit area of cross section
