Mirage is one of the practical examples of total internal reflection generally observed in deserts. It is infact, an optical illusion by which inverted images of distant objects are seen as if reflected on a sheet of water.
When refraction takes place from denser to rarer medium, the critical angle is that angle for which corresponding angle of refraction is 900.
