answered-by-expert Expert Answer

Wavelength is the distance between two successive crests or troughs of a wave.

For light, which is electromagnetic wave i.e. wave of electric and magnetic fields oscillating perpendicular to each other, the the wavelength is the distance between successive crests which are the points of maximum electric/magnetic field.

For example red light has a wavelength between 620 to 750 nm.
