Circumstances leading to dramatic expansion of wheat production in the USA were:
• Advancement of new technology
• Expansion of export market.
• Augmentation in wheat prices, due to increase in demands.
• Improvement in the transport facilities - spread of railways made it easy to transport the grain from wheat growing farms to non-wheat producing areas.
• Russian supplies of wheat were cut off. This resulted in USA providing wheat to the whole of Europe.
