We can read newspaper due to reflection but then why can't we see our reflection in it?

We are not reading newspaper due to reflection, but due to scattering of light.
Our eyes receive the scattered light from newspaper and we read the news.
 
In mirror reflection, scattered light from us reflected by mirror and our eyes receive the reflected light. 
Hence we see our own image due to reflection
