Answer to the question provided by you "two water taps together can fill a tank in 9 3/8 hours .the larger tap takes 10 hours less than the smaller one to fil the tankseperately.find the time in which each tank can seperately fil the tank" is as follows
Let the time taken by the smaller tap be x hr
for larger tap it will be x-10 hr
so amount of water filled in 1 hr = 1/x and 1/x-10
ATQ we have 1/x + 1/(x-10) = 8/75
simplifying we get 8x2-230x+750 =0 which gives x =25 hr
