To compute a linear equation of 384 and 26?

Expert Answer

we see that the hcf of 26 and 384 is 2.

384=26 x 14 + 20

26=20 x 1+6

20=6 x3 +2

6=2 x3 +0

the remainder is zero in the last step , at that time  the divisor is 2, so the hcf is 2

writing the above equations backward manner we will get  to write 2 , the hcf, as the linear combination of 384 and 26.

2=20-[ 6x 3]

=20-{26-(20 x1)}

=[20x2] + [26 x (-1)]

=[{384-(26 x14)} x2] +[26 x (-1)]

=[384 x (2)]+[ 26 x (-29)]
