Three cells are connected in parallel with their like poles connected together with wires of negligible resistance. If emfs of cell are 2,1 and 4 volts respectively and internal resistances are 4,3,2 ohm respectively, find current through each cell. We should do this by Combination of cells in parallel or using Kirchoff's rules?

Expert Answer:

Dear student

use Kirchoffs rules to the lowest loop, & then the outer most loop, we get the followinge equations:

4-2I1-3I2-1=0

-(I1-I2)4-2+1+3I2 =0

Using teh above equations & solving for I1 and I2 we get
I2= 7/13 A
I1= 9/13 A
