Expert Answer:

Heat of formation of SO2 is 398.2 kJ.

S + O2 → SO2

Reverse the above reaction,

SO2 → S + O2 ……Syntax error from line 1 column 49 to line 1 column 73. Unexpected '<mstyle '. = -398.2 kJ ...... (i)

Heat of formation of SO3 is 198.2 kJ

S + 3/2 O2 → SO3 ......Syntax error from line 1 column 49 to line 1 column 73. Unexpected '<mstyle '. = 198.2 kJ .....(ii)

Add (i) and (ii) we will get,

SO2 + 1/2 O2 → SO3 ......Syntax error from line 1 column 49 to line 1 column 73. Unexpected '<mstyle '. = -398.2 + 198.2 = -200 kJ
