The laser beam spot disappears on screen after it appears at B, because total internal reflection takes place for further rotation of glass.
Hece when the spot appears at B, angle of emergence of refracted laser beam is 90° for the angle of incidence C as shown in figure.
Hence refractive index μ = 1/ sin(C) ...............(1)
we have C = 90-θ or sin(C) = sin(90-θ) = cosθ = 120/150 = 4/5 .............(2)
hence from eqn.(1), using eqn.(2), we get μ = 5/4
