1/(a+b+x) = 1/a + 1/b + 1/x = (x(a+b) + ab)/abx

abx = (a+b+x)(x(a+b) + ab)

abx = (a+b+x)(xa+bx+ab)

= a2x+abx+a2b+abx+b2x + ab2+x2a+x2b+abx

a2x+a2b+abx+b2x + ab2+x2a+x2b+abx = 0

(a+b)x2 +(a2+b2+2ab)x+a2b+ab2 = 0

(a+b)x2 +(a+b)2x+ab(a+b) = 0

Solving this quadratic equation,

x = [(a+b)±(a-b)]/2

x = a or b
