solve a question on perimeter & area of rectangles

1. let the breadth of the rectangle be a, then its length will be 3a.
perimeter will be 8a.
side of square 625 = 25
then 8a = 4*25 = 100
a = 12.5
area of the rectangle = 3a2 = 3 (12.5)2 = 468.75
2.initially the side be a then area wil be a2 .
finally side is a/2 then area will be a2/4
so %reduction in area is 75%.
