The electric field on infinite rod has two components,
Ex and Ey
The electric field for x-component at distance 'r' from the infinite rod is,
![E subscript x equals fraction numerator lambda over denominator 2 pi epsilon subscript 0 r end fraction](https://images.topperlearning.com/topper/tinymce/cache/d364ef02db21f39f658435528449257c.png)
and
Ey = 0
Thus,
![E subscript n e t end subscript space equals space fraction numerator lambda over denominator 2 pi epsilon subscript 0 r end fraction](https://images.topperlearning.com/topper/tinymce/cache/a383a0fabbd309ba3ecbfb3209744124.png)
