sir can u please tell me that how to know whether a given alkyl halide is primary, secondary or tertiary..

Expert Answer
A given alkyl halide is primary if the carbon atom carrying the halogen atom is attached is attached to only one carbon atom.
A given alkyl halide is secondary if the carbon atom carrying the halogen atom is attached is attached to two carbon atoms and it is called tertiary if the carbon atom carrying the halogen atom is attached is attached to three carbon atoms.
