Ramesh wants to build a small fence around the garden in his backyard. The garden is in the shape of a right triangle. If one leg is 2 metres and other leg is 1 metre. He goes to a store for purchasing fencing. The store sells fencing in tenths of a metre.
(A) What is the perimeter of Ramesh's garden? Show all your work.
(B) What length of fencing should Ramesh buy if the store only sells fencing in tenth of a metre?
Solution:
One leg = 2 metres and the other leg = 1 metre
As the garden is in the shape os a right triangle, so we'll use pythagoras theorem here.
Therefore we have
Hypotenuse2 = 22 + 12 = 4 + 1 = 5
