Taking the image of the point object as the vertex, two triangles may be drawn with the length of the mirror and length of the person as bases. These two triangles will be similar to each other and using similarity principle,
Greatest distance / mirror length = 3L / L = 3
or, Greatest distance = 3 mirror length = 3d
