pls answer it briefly i cant understand it .

The relation connecting the focal length (f) of lens with the radii of curvature R1 and R2 of its two surfaces and the refractive indices of the material of lens n2 and the medium surrounding lens n1 is called the len's makers formula.
 
Mathematically :Syntax error from line 1 column 49 to line 1 column 73. Unexpected '<mstyle '.
The focal length of convex lens is positive , while that of concave lens is negative.
