Dear student,
Louis de Broglie, attempting to develop a theory of radiation in terms of light quanta or photons was led to new conception of matter waves by the following considerations 
 
(i) Nature loves symmetry.
(it) The close parallelism between mechanics and optics.
(iii) Bohr's theory of atomic structure.
(iv) The inadequacy of the quantum theory of radiation.
