Expert Answer:

A concave mirror is one that is curved inwards. You can remember it this way: "it has a cave in it and the bear can walk into the cave."

A convex mirror is curved outwards.

If you look at your face in a spoon ,at the side that holds food, you are looking at a concave mirror.

The other side of the spoon is a convex mirror.

A convex lens is thick in the middle and thin at the ends.
