A concave mirror is one that is curved inwards. You can remember it this way: "it has a cave in it and the bear can walk into the cave."
A convex mirror is curved outwards.
If you look at your face in a spoon ,at the side that holds food, you are looking at a concave mirror.
The other side of the spoon is a convex mirror.
A convex lens is thick in the middle and thin at the ends.
