Young's Double Slit Experiment is described in the above figure. This experiment is based on hygenes wave theory: All points on a wavefront can be considered as point sources for the production of spherical secondary wavelets.
When the light source is far away from a given point, the spherical wavefron starting from the source becomes plane wavefront at that point. As described above in the figure, plane wavefront reaches the double slit and become two source of secondary wavelet and produces interference pattern on the screen.
If the primary Slit S is moved to S' and S' is sufficiently far away from the double slit, still the wavefront starting from S' becomes plane wave front at the surface of double slit. Hence the source condition at double slit is not altered and hence no change in interference pattern.
