Fig(a) shows the ray diagram if the angle between mirrors is 45°. It can be seen from figure, the ray retraces itself at 2nd reflection.
 
Fig(b) shows the ray diagram if the angle between mirrors is 30°. It can be seen from figure, the ray incident normally before third reflection.
Hence it will retrace itself after third reflection
