Is the mid point theorem and the BPT theorem the same, if not how?

The two theorems are different.
Mid point theorem: The segment joining the midpoints of two sides of a triangle is parallel to the third side and half as long as the third side.
Clearly, mid point theorem can be deduced from BPT.
