CBSE Class 10 Answered

in RD Sharma's solution , ex.6.5 , Q.24, why we have taken the value 1/2 with both positive and negative sign. What is the reason for doing this?????

Here the question is asked to find the y coordinate of third vertex of a triangle, where x coordinate of a third vertex is given.
 
So, y can take +ve as well as -ve value, in a coordinate system.
 
Note: Area of a tringle is always +ve, so we are taking only +ve value.
