CBSE Class 12-science Answered
If the temperature of the conductor is increased, what happens to its specific resistance?
Asked by Seshadri S | 29 Mar, 2013, 11:12: PM
Expert Answer
The specific resistance (resistivity) of a conductor is directly proportional to temperature. So, temperature increases the resistivity and in turn resistance would increase and vice versa. This is because of the fact that temperature changes can cause the intermolecular collisions to increases or decrease.
