Let the present age of Son be x years.
→ Father's present age = (x + 30) years.
According to the condition,
x + 30 + 12 = 3(x + 12)
→ 2x = 6
→ x = 3
Therefore, the present age of the son is 3 years and the present age of the father is 33 years.
