CBSE Class 12-science Answered
if a machine is correctly setup , it produces 90% acceptable items.If it is incorrectly setup , it produces only 40% acceptable items. Past experience shows that 80% of the setups are correctly done. If aftera certain set up , the machine produces 2 acceptable tems, find the probability that the machine is correctly setup.

Yups, we are talking about production of 2 acceptable items and since, the production of each of the acceptable items is independent from the previous one, we need to multiply their individual probabilities. And so, in both the cases p(A|B1) and p(A|B2), the individual probabilities are being multiplied.
