how to see which resistence is in series or in parallel if its a complicated circuit

Expert Answer
First of all this requires practice.
Start simplifying the circuit furthest away from the sources of emf.
Resistors through whcih the same current flows are in series. Think in your mind that the current is 'moving cars.' If the same traffic moves through the two roads"resistors' then they are in series. If there is a junction which means the traffic can split up at that point then the resistors are not in series.
Practice the application of Kirchoff's rules as it helps simplify circuits considerably. Do not hesistate using these laws as they help find resistance even without trying to think too much about what is in series and what is in paralle.
