how is (l-2d)+(l-d)+l mean in AP

An A.P is a progression (sequence) obtained by adding a fixed number to the previous term.
Thus (1-2d) + d = 1-d
(1-d) +d = 1.
Hence 1-2d, 1-d and 1 are in A.P.
