When biomass is produced in boilers, their efficiency depends on the method used. The following two examples are the technological inputs to improve the efficiency of biomass while produced in boilers.
1) Direct-fired: In this way the biomass is burnt in the boiler to produce high pressure steam which is used to run a turbine that helps in producing electricity.
2) Co-firing: In this technique a part of biomass is substituted by coal. This reduces the cost of production of power through the boiler.
